David Nitkin is an ethicist as well as author. His interest in Toronto's history was sparked by participating in many historical and heritage walks through Toronto. Using his background in ethics, he found it particularly interesting how so many current issues like subways, hospitals, development planning and immigrant counselling have had their origins in decisions made in this creative period in Toronto’s past a century ago. Mr. Nitkin's Toronto 1910 Series of historical fiction novels give a fictional glimpse based on real history, at some of these institutions and how Toronto acted and reacted to the events that befell them during its history.
His Jewish Ethics and Ethos Series of original studies, guides and education resources look at religious and secular Jewish tradition in terms of historical and current morality, values and rites.
The Enhancing Morality Study Session Series are resources for adult education and university courses, programs and studies in theology, comparative religion and ethics.
